The Ravens Road To Playoffs

Chris Schisler

The Baltimore Ravens just beat the New Orleans Saints to get to 7-4. The Ravens are now in a 3 way tie for 2nd in the AFC North. The Bengals have a half game lead on the most competitive division in football. The AFC playoff picture is incredible. There are 6 teams with a 7-4 record. Can the Ravens earn one of the 6 playoff spots?

If the Ravens can take care of business they are in a good position to at least earn a wild card spot. The Ravens still play the 7-4 Chargers, the 6-5 Dolphins and the 7-4 Browns. If the Ravens win these games they boost their playoff chances and weaken their opponents chances. While nothing is clear cut at this point, winning these games is essential; at the very least it gives the Ravens tiebreakers. If the Ravens go 3-0 against these teams the wild card is likely theirs.

The division championship is still within reach for the Ravens. The last game against the Browns could decide who is the AFC North champion. That game will be played in the sea of purple that is M&T Bank Stadium. The other AFC North teams have at least 2 division games left on their schedule. That means that they could knock each other down a peg and in turn boost the Ravens. In this tremendous division, anything is a possibility.

The Ravens have a chance to be special. With a great running based offense, a great quarterback and great weapons the Ravens can put up some points. With great run defense, great pass rush and great red zone defense the Ravens are a tough team. Baltimore boasts good special teams, Justin Tucker is a difference making kicker. Baltimore has a chance this season as anything is possible. They just have to take care of what they can control.
