5 Bold Ravens Predictions

Chris Schisler

1.)The Ravens will finish the regular season with a top 5 defense. The Ravens have been committed to reestablishing their defensive dominance. They found their free safety in Terrance Brooks. They found a linebacker to play next to Darryl Smith. Baltimore even improved its defensive line drafting Timmy Jernigan and Brent Urban. The Ravens finished 2014 with the 12th best defense in football. After improving all 3 levels of the defense, Baltimore is looking to dominate this season.

2.) The Ravens defense will lead the league in takeaways. With a star studded secondary and a healthy amount pass rush, you’re going to get your fair share of interceptions. The Ravens also have two great linebackers against the pass in Mosley and Smith.

3.) Joe Flacco will have his best statistical season. I am the first to defend number 5 but there is no doubt he needs to put on a show in 2014. Its hard to imagine him struggling this year. For the first time in Joe Flacco’s career he has a good group of weapons and a legitimate offensive coordinator. Flacco has had success with much less talent around him. Expect Flacco to throw over 4,000 yards and 30 or more touchdowns this season. Its time for Joe to do it, no excuses are available. I expect big things from Flacco.

4.) Ricky Wagner will be fine at right tackle and the offensive line will be strong. With a healthy KO and Marshal Yanda, the Ravens could have a really strong offensive line. It will be at least adequate.

5.) The Ravens will go 12-4 and win the AFC North. Before the miserable 8-8 2013 season, the Ravens were a playoff team for 5 consecutive years. Last year was the year of Murphy’s law: anything that could go wrong, would go wrong. Baltimore got better this offseason. I believe they will learn from 2013 and get back to their winning ways.
